I don't believe in soul mates

The idea is a profanity of agency.
There's nothing romantic about it.

  1. i love this.

i feel like it's more romantic choosing someone you want to be forever with instead of being "assigned" to them. then you chose them and they chose you. they're yours because you want them to be.

  2. But don't you think we might have found someone before we were here. When we were just souls - before our bodies? Before our trials?

And maybe we said, "We'll be together in this pre-mortal existence, that life, and for all eternity?"

I think some of us are like that. Some of us have a Jacob (for Rachel), a Prince Albert (for Queen Victoria), or a Christopher (for Lisa Marie - my mom).

Not everyone perhaps, but maybe some. And maybe some never find each other, or choose someone else. And they'll be happy.

But to believe in eternal marriage, I also have to believe there is a chance that soul mates really exist. People who pledge themselves to each other, and make the choices that lead them to each other again.

I believe in miracles and soul mates.
